Birthday Weekend in Utah!

This weekend Deven, Porter and I went with some friends (Ty and Sheena) to Utah to take a little break from work, school, and Rexburg:) The first night we headed over to Farmington to stay with Sheena's aunt Nancy who turned out to be the sweetest woman. She had such a beautiful home and Porter just adored her! The first moment she started talking to him he laughed and laughed with an endless smile on his face! Oh, so precious! And she just adored him as well. Once we had left Idaho Falls he slep the entire way to Farmington! Amazing!
After
we ate breakfast at Nancy's and headed out, we drove straight to the Gateway Mall and enjoyed it so much! I think Porter was getting overwhelmed because he wouldn't stop screaming. I tried everything to calm him down and sadly discovered nothing worked. He slept a bit but was fussy most the time.

Deven, Ty and Sheena went to the new movie Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp while I was able to see Kim! Kim, her husband Lance and two sweet sweet children Keianna and Declan drove over to the Gateway mall to meet up with me:) I had so much fun spending time with them. We went to build a bear where Kim and Lance made Keianna an easter bunny which she LOVED! Then headed to Applebees to eat.

7 hours later when we arrived at the Hotel he slept so well and was much more content. :) YAY! Boy was it tough watching him cry and feeling more and more helpless after each attempt to calm him turned up with no positive results. We went to Olive Garden for dinner (Porter slept throughout dinner:) so wonderful!) Then back to our hotel room to sleep after a long day of shopping.

I admit it was much tougher than I thought it was to bring a 2 1/2 month old on a trip shopping for that long. I fed him in public for the first time with my hooter hider my friend Cheryl had made for me. Luckily I remembered to bring it. The situation was awkward either way though. I fed him outside the shops at Gateway, in a PacSun changing room, a few times at the food court, in Applebees during dinner...many new experiences for me. When you have a baby, everything changes.

Weekend in Utah!

This weekend we are heading to Utah! Can't wait to finally get away with some friends! The hotel Deven and Ty booked have an indoor and outdoor pool so we get to go swimming! Yay! And this time I will fit into my bathing suit without a belly popping out! This is also Porter's first big drive so I'm curious to see how he will do. We'll all be going in Deven's car so we're planning on packing pretty light seeing how we need to fit in 5 people's luggage, a co-sleeper and stroller:)

And I get to visit my sister Kim and her newborn Declan on my Birthday! Whoo! I'll be 22 on the 20th and this is probably the ultimate way to spend my birthday.

Porter's Photo Session

Finally have pictures up! Yay! These photos were taken by Janeen Getz when Porter was 1 month old. Since then he's been getting a little more hair on the top of his head and his legs have been filling out:) I love the little rolls! We had a lot of fun with Janeen at this photo session, and Porter had a lot of fun giving me surprises! I fed him in between sessions and while doing so, he decided to pee on my inner thigh! hahah..looked like I was the one who had had the accident. There was lots of pee too, especially because he was naked for the next round of photos. Fun day though!

1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

Hey Everyone!

Deven and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary this past Saturday on the 13th! It's crazy how fast a year flies by! Whew! And we have a two month old too! Crazy! Luckily we were able to go out for a few hours thanks to Porter's Grandma Rhonda! Thanks so much Rhonda!! We ended up going out to Chili's which by the way is AMAZING! It's one of the few restaurants where I have to pick from about 10 different mealsh that just look oh so good! We were both really impressed over our appetizer plate, especially the southwestern egg roles! WOW! Deven couldn't stop mentioning how mouth watering they are:)

Afterward we had previously planned to walk along the Green Belt because that is where we had gone on our first "real" date but the weather wasn't accepting that idea, so then we thought about bowling but after that meal we were both in the mood to take a nap so we ended up buying "Planet 51" which ended up being a cute flick.

OH! Also, I just figured out how to find comments on my blog! haha! i've never read any of them before because I didn't know where they were! Man do I need to catch up on the new technology, which in actuality isn't all that recent. I think I'm staying behind with the later generation. Hope everyone is doing well!
