Birthday Weekend in Utah!

This weekend Deven, Porter and I went with some friends (Ty and Sheena) to Utah to take a little break from work, school, and Rexburg:) The first night we headed over to Farmington to stay with Sheena's aunt Nancy who turned out to be the sweetest woman. She had such a beautiful home and Porter just adored her! The first moment she started talking to him he laughed and laughed with an endless smile on his face! Oh, so precious! And she just adored him as well. Once we had left Idaho Falls he slep the entire way to Farmington! Amazing!
After
we ate breakfast at Nancy's and headed out, we drove straight to the Gateway Mall and enjoyed it so much! I think Porter was getting overwhelmed because he wouldn't stop screaming. I tried everything to calm him down and sadly discovered nothing worked. He slept a bit but was fussy most the time.

Deven, Ty and Sheena went to the new movie Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp while I was able to see Kim! Kim, her husband Lance and two sweet sweet children Keianna and Declan drove over to the Gateway mall to meet up with me:) I had so much fun spending time with them. We went to build a bear where Kim and Lance made Keianna an easter bunny which she LOVED! Then headed to Applebees to eat.

7 hours later when we arrived at the Hotel he slept so well and was much more content. :) YAY! Boy was it tough watching him cry and feeling more and more helpless after each attempt to calm him turned up with no positive results. We went to Olive Garden for dinner (Porter slept throughout dinner:) so wonderful!) Then back to our hotel room to sleep after a long day of shopping.

I admit it was much tougher than I thought it was to bring a 2 1/2 month old on a trip shopping for that long. I fed him in public for the first time with my hooter hider my friend Cheryl had made for me. Luckily I remembered to bring it. The situation was awkward either way though. I fed him outside the shops at Gateway, in a PacSun changing room, a few times at the food court, in Applebees during dinner...many new experiences for me. When you have a baby, everything changes.
